"Pray on it, Pray over it, Pray through it"

Announcement

Description :

"Pray on it, Pray over it, Pray through it" is a powerful reminder of the centrality of prayer in navigating life's challenges, uncertainties, and opportunities. Let’s expound on each phrase and how it relates to faith, perseverance, and spiritual growth.

1. Pray on it

This first step encourages us to bring our concerns, decisions, and desires to God. When we pray "on" something, we acknowledge that we don’t have all the answers and invite divine wisdom into our situation. It’s an act of humility and surrender, recognizing that our understanding is limited, and God’s wisdom is infinite.

Seeking Guidance: Before making a decision or facing a challenge, we need to turn to God for direction. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Surrendering Control: Praying on something means surrendering control and acknowledging that God’s plans are higher than our own (Isaiah 55:8-9).

2. Pray over it

Praying over something signifies covering a person, situation, or need with God’s protection, blessing, and grace. It’s about asking God to place His hand over the matter, whether it’s a relationship, decision, job, or even a trial.

Protection and Covering: Just as we ask for protection from physical dangers, we also need to pray for spiritual covering. Ephesians 6:18 encourages believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."

Blessing and Favor: Praying over something can also involve asking for God’s favor to be poured out, as we see in Numbers 6:24-26 where the Lord’s blessing and peace are called down over His people.

Healing and Restoration: When we pray over situations, we ask God to bring healing, restoration, and peace to areas of brokenness or confusion.

3. Pray through it

This phrase speaks to the perseverance required in prayer, especially when facing trials, temptations, or prolonged waiting periods. Praying through a situation means staying committed in faith until we see God’s will unfold.

Perseverance in Prayer: Praying through it requires endurance, much like Jesus encouraged in Luke 18:1, teaching His disciples that they should "always pray and not give up."

Faith During Trials: When difficulties arise, praying through it means continuing in faith, believing that God is working, even when the outcome is not yet visible. James 1:2-4 reminds us that perseverance in faith produces maturity and completeness.

Trusting God’s Timing: Often, praying through something involves waiting on God’s perfect timing. Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles."

"Pray on it, Pray over it, Pray through it" is an invitation to lean into God’s presence at every step of life’s journey. It reminds us to start by seeking His guidance, then ask for His covering and protection, and finally, persevere through difficulties, knowing that prayer is not just a one-time act, but a continuous engagement with God.

Whether you are facing a small decision or a significant life challenge, these three aspects of prayer remind you that God is always present, ready to guide, protect, and walk with you until the answer is clear or the breakthrough comes.
