Mr. Kitamirike has been an integral part of the Makerere University Planning Department, where he has served with distinction as Principal Planning Officer since 2019. His outstanding contributions to the department have now earned him this elevation, a testament to his expertise and impact.
Beyond Makerere, Mr. Kitamirike serves as the Director of Policy and Planning at the Busoga Consortium for Development. Under his stewardship, the Consortium has achieved significant milestones, including the formulation and implementation of the 10-Year Busoga Development Agenda (BDA). His visionary leadership in drafting this transformative document has provided a roadmap for sustainable growth and development in the region, further solidifying his legacy as a strategic planner and development champion.
During the handover ceremony at Makerere University, which took place on January 21, 2025, Mr. Kitamirike expressed deep gratitude to the University Management, particularly to Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe and Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) Prof. Henry Alinaitwe, for their mentorship and trust. In his acceptance speech, he emphasized the critical importance of strategic planning and accurate reporting as pillars of accountability and success.
“We are fully aware of the monumental task ahead. My team and I are committed to tackling it with unwavering resolve and dedication," Mr. Kitamirike affirmed. He further pledged to prioritize grant-funded projects and maintain the department's focus on strategic alignment with the University's goals.
